In 2014 Jon Meis pepper-sprayed & tackled a gunman as he paused to reload his shotgun at Seattle Pacific University. Meis held him until officers arrived & handcuffed him.
The shooter killed a 19-year-old man outside Otto Miller Hall & wounded 2 others. He had 50 additional shotgun shells & a hunting knife.
Meis was given the Carnegie Hero award in 2014.
