Capitalism is insane for a lot of obvious reasons but one of them is that people genuinely believe essential and necessary work should be underpaid just because the ✨ vibes ✨ of the job aren’t cool enough
if a CEO doesn’t show up for 3 months, it’s called a sabbatical and business operates completely normally without issue. if the janitorial staff doesn’t show up for 3 months, the business can no longer function. so who should be getting paid more?
@keke I've long ranted about how janitorial and garbage maintenance folks deserve far more respect than any CEO. They are vital members of society. Civilization would be toast without them and we'd all do well to remember that!
@keke It always, always pissed me off that I never had enough PTO days to get surgery, but my boss could take a month long vacation with two days' notice
@keke replace👏CEOs👏with👏 AI.
@postmodern @keke replace CEOs with no CEOs. Kill em all.
@keke business often works better during the "sabbatical" :)

@keke

Essential workers are always the most oppressed, because them being actually essential means that the organization has to keep them trodden down and controllable.

@keke And if the front secretary doesn't arrive by 9:00, the entire business screeches to a halt. If secretaries had a union they'd be paid a sack of gold a day
