If you don’t support gun reform, you’re not pro-life. It’s that simple.

@rbreich Also, if you don't support Medicare-For-All, you are not pro-life.

@rbreich I support repeal of the 2nd Amendment, in total.

Scalia mutilated the original intent of the 2A, ignored related provisions in Articles I and II of the Constitution.

As long as 2A is held to be even stronger than First Amendment no real gun reform is possible.

Either repeal Heller or repeal 2A, and allow political forces in the states to decide. (Gee, didn't we just see that delegation to the States in the Dobbs decision?)

@karlauerbach @rbreich Killing people with guns is "suppressing their 1A rights" with 2A, but nobody seems to want to take that fight.
@ShrikeTron @rbreich All of my longish runs are under my wood-frame house. But when we did the Interop show nets in steel framed convention centers we used fiber for almost everything that wasn't short due to the possibility of things like ground loops or lightning. (I'm not myself an expert in putting connectors on fiber, but we had a really skilled team as well as we had bought out the US Nat'l military stockpile of 26-strand fiber quick connect connectors - expensive but well worth it.)
@karlauerbach @rbreich and as a reminder to everyone: Heller was only a recent decision, and a party-line 5-4 split from a conservative SCOTUS. For the rest of US history, 2A was interpreted as allowing limits on gun ownership. Grammatically, 2A specifically says gun rights are for military purposes, but the Heller decision ignores that.
@jamesmarshall @rbreich Heller also created a doctrine, followed in Dobbs, of pretending that apocryphal practices of parts of New England (and Jolly Old England) circa 1780 (and before) represent practices in all of the US - even though most of the US came from France, Spain, Mexico, Russia, and Dole Pineapple - places that had rather different attitudes about things.
@karlauerbach @rbreich as I recall, Alito's leaked draft of the Dobbs decision included a reference to a medieval (?) English aristocrat who considered women to be property. This was used as a justification for the decision.

@rbreich If one doesn't support disease mitigations (such as masking), then one doesn't really support gun reform either.

They're both the same goals of saving lives from preventable, needless deaths after all.

@rbreich The ‘pro life’ slogan is more ill-conceived than ‘defund police,’ huh?
(no pun intended)
@rbreich the replies on Twitter to that original tweet. Talk about depressing!

@rbreich

The comments are extremely disturbing.
