what would be ya'lls sugerstion for first certificate to get for getting employed in cyber?
@Asmodea first i'd recommend deciding what cyber means to you. If you want to hack into stuff and be a pen tester/red team, then work up to an OSCP.
If you want to write code professionally, consider a traditional CompSci degree.
If you want to architect systems, learn some systems engineering (maybe get ASEP/CSEP from INCOSE) and then if you want to manage, get a CISSP.
All this assuming you have a solid "hacker" background. Get hands on and learn low level stuff! Certs aren't everything :)
@eg0n thanks, i;m working on pen testing with hack the box
and coding with codeacademy and datacamp
the OSCP seems like its so far away, i'm kinda looking at certs in between nothing and that
i jjust found out about INE 10 min ago

@Asmodea ok, sounds like cyber to you means you want to break in to stuff. Cool :)
.

I don't have much respect for CEH or it's governing body but some companies like it.
.
Security+ is an ok cert I guess that might help you give advice and it's _really_ beginner level.
.

Neither of these really prepare you for the OSCP or teach you how to hack, but they might be a way to get into an entry level job.
