New sound track. Cimiento.

Ayer a la noche buscabas
tesoros en los cimientos,
que enterrados bajo losa
están oscuros secretos.
El calcetín con monedas
y las telas con remiendos,
como en un nido de ratas,
olvidado con el tiempo.
Y no digas nada querida,
silencio de sepulturero,
que el oro que hay bajo tierra
es oro que no tiene dueño.

@sintrom I like the poem very much. It leans on the similaroty between "cimiento" and "cementario" without ever needing to mention it explicitly.

@telantas

I always write lyrics for instrumental tracks :)

@sintrom @telantas that's fascinating, what an interesting idea/approach
@etherdiver @sintrom indeed I think that's a very intriguing idea. I do tend to write texts that accompany my imstrumental tracks but they tend to be prose, not poems - so they couldn't work as lyrics. Recently, though, I've started to put music to poems to make songs. However, I intend to release them as vocoder songs - which I think is almost like what you do, as I don't think a vocoder is the same as actual vocals. Hmm...

@telantas @etherdiver

I started writing small prose texts for each track on soundcloud. When i recorded the first cassette i thought how much i loved the gatefold with lyrics. So I wrote poems that fit with the tracks. It was almost a joke, it made me laugh to think that the listeners would search the singer by turning up the volume more and more. Afterwards I have not been able to stop doing it, some friends have told me that sounds are an excuse to write.

@sintrom @telantas @etherdiver this thread caught my eye, I've started to write words/lyrics/poems for my live electronica sets. So far, I've just been reading them over the music. Not terrible, and adds that 'human' touch to the tracks. My experience of electronic music: anything goes, it's all good.😀

@telantas @abominable @etherdiver

The human touch has arrived. for once the lyrics have been sung.

For the recording, she only had a contact microphone at hand, so the voices were shouted into a breakfast-sized steel saucepan.

Every synth crooner should sing through a saucepan, to the rhythm of a Romería.

Sintrom
@sintrom @telantas @etherdiver very nice approach. On my last gig, I did one song through an old line6 modeller and get a distorted 'old radio' sound, not terrible...

Oh now I gotta try that saucepan thing! I got a bunch of those contact mics lol ( used them as triggers for a diy electric drum set 😆 )
