That field office was called "Trumpland" in 2016 if I recall correctly and was suspected of all sorts of leaks surrounding the Clinton email case. Could be a coincidence but involvement by the guy who "ran OVD's influence ops in the West." sounds like a red flag.

"AGENT-1" in the McGonigal/Deripaska indictment is Yevgenyi Fokin, a rumored SVR officer who reports directly to Deripaska. Fokin, according to well-informed sources, ran OVD's influence ops in the West. McGonigal was one part of this network.
