The Labour party will ask it's MPs to vote with the Conservative Government on their policy to remove Home Office recognition of gender certificates from other countries.

The Labour party has abandoned us in their attempt to court Conservative voters. This is so painful... 😡

Why is there no opposition in this country to anything that the fascists in government do? First they came for us. The question is: who will be next?

@yassie_j I get the feeling they're targeting us just like Nixon targeted the gay and Black population with his laws. Because we're the most active resistance against conservatism (which is kinda a chicken and egg problem, so of course it's on them).

In other words, tyrants have already recognized us as their enemies.

The real question is, what's next on our part?

@yuki2501
It didn't even have to be this way. Both parties were pro-trans as recent as summer 2019. BoJo reformed the Tories by adopting (and hiring people responsible for) US culture wars.

Anyway, the next step? Well, I suppose I personally wouldn't be satisfied until we have Sunak's decapitated head on a stick.

@yassie_j I genuinely think that they think we'll vote for them regardless of anything, whereas as things stand, I'm likely to intentionally not vote for anyone. Which is unimaginable to younger me, but here we are.
@QsBoyfriend
Yes, I agree with you. I've always been a person to "vote no matter what". Even encouraging my friends to do so. Democracy is not something we should negotiate away. But the actions of the Tories and Labour have proven that whatever democracy left in this country has been refactored to serve cronyist interests in the Friends of Sunak Club.
@yassie_j Absolutely same in terms of the journey we've been on. I'm going to be gutted if I end up not voting, but I know that it'll be the right thing to do if that happens, as I just can't vote for softer marginalisation or victimisation.
