I've been diagnosed with alarmingly high cholesterol and blood iron levels (both due to genetic propensities).

While I'll be getting medical treatments, my wife has also spent hours investigating the right foods for me to eat to lower iron and cholesterol.

She is my everything. ❤️

@badams I know a few people who have changed their diet to combat high cholesterol - all successfully. Good luck Barry!

@badams I know the last thing you need is unsolicited, non-professional advice, but of course here I go anyway ;-)

A few years back I had high bad cholesterol. Among a few other smaller changes, I started eating steel cut oatmeal every morning. In 6 months my cholesterol was in normal range.

I’m sure your situation is more dire than mine, so I’m glad you’re following professional advice. But non-instant oatmeal may be something you want in the mix.

@marktraphagen Thanks Mark, appreciate the advice! We're looking at loads of dietary changes, both big and small, but the genetic component is the big one and no diet will overcome that. So statins will probably be a lifelong medication for me.
