Really sucks to see #microsoft fumbling on the Metaverse by leaving AltspaceVR in the dust rather than doubling down on it. It has more potential than anything Meta is doing, and was years ahead. But poor move after another has continuously left it's community feeling insulted. Groups that were there are moving to Horizon Worlds in droves, especially now that the writing is on the wall. Feels like Windows Phone & Zune all over again. They just don't get consumers at all. #metaverse #vr

@jongalloway Right? They bought it in 2017 and have been slowly suffocating it ever since. Now they're trying to merge the tech into Teams, because of course they are.

@jongalloway Yup, very sad news. Back in the day Reggie Watts played there pretty frequently. There were open mic nights, cards against humanity, this huge maze you could explore together. You could even host a party have people contribute YouTube videos on a huge shared screen. But for the last year, more stuff would get broken than fixed.
