I think we're going with this. Enough people said they wanted to pay more that I'm sure as hell not going to stop them. Not going to feature gate anything, but I could see a couple fun perks for the higher level in the future.

@paul i have a a deep aversion against subscriptions. please offer a one-time payment as well.

also take not that the replies are filled with financially stable white techbro presenting people. these are by far not the only demographic on mastodon. consider not to be the "i am rich app" of mastodon.

@yetzt @paul they will not, they did that for many years and went the subscription route to protect the future viability of their apps

@faisal yes, i used subscription free tweetbot on macos and ios until it broke, then moved away. i don't have a problem with paying for a new version occasionally or donating regularly. @paul
