Wild: at the Battle of Shiloh in April 1862, Gen. William Tecumseh Sherman had a bloodied, bandaged hand; his arm in a sling where he took a bullet to the shoulder; a bullet was shot through his hat; and he had three horses shot out from under him— yet still he held his ground, outnumbered, against the onslaught of Confederate soldiers, leading his division (two, really) as they guarded the pivotal position of Pittsburgh Landing in Tennessee. Just astounding courage, obstinance, and tenacity.
@JoParkerBear Yeah, well, I just drank a frappe without a straw cuz they were all out.
