@joshtumath I'm surprised somewhere like the BBC isn't upfront about salary ranges. They're clearly banded roles so why not list the range in the advert?
Not listing ranges disadvantages candidates who aren't comfortable with haggling (who are often already in underpaid groups)

(Of course if I just missed them then I apologise!)

@alanbrookland Yeah I don't know why they don't do that. But if someone did a freedom of information request, they'd have to release them.
BBC salary bands - a Freedom of Information request to British Broadcasting Corporation

Please provide the minimum and maximum salaries of each of your alphabetic pay bands. If there are differences or allowances for some regions of the UK, please also provide those. Yours faithfully, Duncan Garmonsway

WhatDoTheyKnow
@joshtumath @alanbrookland I know the current figures and I'd better not say too much, but they've only gone up by a small amount since these were released.
@gigabates @alanbrookland In fairness, for software engineering, I would say it was quite a bit.
@gigabates @alanbrookland That one is already extremely out of date. And the job pay ranges are different to the pay bands. Someone would need to ask for the pay for specific job titles.
