Ruan8 years of a miserable marriage, 6 years of thinking about leaving, and I finally found a place I loved and could afford. I submitted a rental application and got rejected the next day. Just like the previous 20+ attempts to leave, every time I tried, I got knocked back. "You chose this life. You choose this life everyday. Choose something different tomorrow." Well, I tried and I am still stuck in this reality.

Do you really need a place that you will love right now?
Find a place. Any place.
You need not love it because you can leave it; it is only a place.
But it will be a place where you can feel safe.
It will be a place where you can openly plan your next steps.
Most of all, it will not be where you are now.
