Just started reading Lagoon by @nnedi. Only a few pages in but already intrigued. Was the blast underwater the same as the one on the beach? Is the woman the same? I mean, I assume so, but don't want to assume anything.

Is there some meaning to the bat that seems to have escaped the wave?

And of course, what the heck is the underwater alien thing?
