really want to mess with egui but not sure what to make with it
maybe this recipe manager thingamy I want to make but it seems kinda unsuited for that being immediate mode

maybe I just need to get around my mental block that immediate mode is just for games bc it seems super flexible

and I can't find any nice retained mode gui system to mess with

the problem with immediate mode is redoing layout every frame seems wasteful

I mean tailscale use an immediate mode gui thing for their programs so I kinda don't see why I couldn't use it for mine

unrelated but speaking of tailscale I should check that thing out
seems really useful for doing that whole accessing your everything from everywhere thing without all the messy config nonsense (plus it's a way to get around my uni isolating LAN clients from each other)
