How to privatize public healthcare:

Step 1: Underfund the public system.
Step 2: Make people frustrated with the public system.
Step 3: Introduce private for-profit options so people have no other choice.

This is what’s happening right now in Ontario.

It must be stopped.

@ChrisMayLA6 @naheedd yes it's standard privatising practice -- but more than protesting about underfunding is needed. Eg what if healthcare itself (like mines in ancient Athens) was legislated to be public property, only to be leased to private providers if their project enchances the welfare state itself, rather than erode it. I'm sure leftie economists have better ideas!

@mmoutou @naheedd Yes, the European model, of some private providers (all payed for by the state) has some adherents over here

@ChrisMayLA6 @naheedd I didn't mean private providers payed/subcontracted by the state (or did you mean something else??), but almost the opposite. A modern, better version of ancient Athenian 'Kainotomia', which came to mean industrial innovation.
