Seeing people posting about being laid off after 30 years of employment at Microsoft is a great example of corporate loyalty.
@carnage4life Your company will never love you back. 😢
@Quinnypig @carnage4life In a very small company the people *might*.
@apkoponen @Quinnypig @carnage4life I worked for a very small company for nearly four years, they still laid me off as soon as they fancied a 'restructure'!
@carnage4life Corporate America is looking for a workforce on demand.
@daniel @carnage4life Thank Reagan and Jack Welch CEO of GE for changing all that. Prior to Welch, companies were about long term profit, and proudly advertised how much taxes they paid as it was a sign of being successful and giving back to the community. Welch changed business into a short term profits driven industry, promoted tax dodging schemes and bills, and instituted the ranking of workers so they could fire the bottom 10% yearly so everyone would be looking over their shoulder in fear of their jobs, and distrust of their co-workers.
@carnage4life corporations are made of people. This is Satya Nadella looking at 70B profit in 2022 then laying off 10,000 employees
