@beatnikprof On the other hand, she did know about the Nazis‘ staggered approach to regime consolidation. I knew (they are mostly now dead) apolitical Germans who didn‘t wake up until they were losing a war, because they had felt largely unrestricted personally until that moment. Dictators know better than to ban the very ordinary.
