Oh starter motor, are you the reason my Vespa won't start? Let's work it out this afternoon.

@jezra ima take it apart and clean everything this afternoon. I've watched 2 YT vids and it looks like something I can do.

How old is the starter?

@jezra well the Vespa is 2004 and I'm assuming the starter is original, so 18 to 19 yrs old.

@jezra welp...that didn't go as well as I hoped. Kinda damaged the brushes then couldn't get it back together. New starter on the way. It was worth a shot!

@jonkulp An unfortunate outcome to be sure, but at least you had the opportunity to take it apart :)
