I was young when i initially saw it so it didn’t occur to me then but watching it older most def pissed me off! I think the person must have studied philosophy because it was really geared towards that. The origin of love wasn’t the only reference i saw. I think they referred to pedophilia in the same way that was common during the era of plato & Socrates. Having it be a play was another reference…
@grayzombie there are several more but it just keeps getting more insulting.
With that being said, i still have the soundtrack memorized still to this day. It was brilliantly done. But that doesn’t excuse how problematic it is and you have every right to carry mixed feelings about it.
