#UK #Voting # PhotoID Everybody needs photo ID to vote. If you don't have a driving Licence or Passport, FREE voter Photo ID can be ordered here:

You Need a digital picture of yourself, a birth certificate or National insurance number.

Apply for photo ID to vote (called a ‘Voter Authority Certificate’)

Apply for photo ID to vote (Voter Authority Certificate) in some elections and referendums in Great Britain if you do not have an accepted form of ID.

@mrgeoffshumba you can only use this service if you're already registered to vote. If you are not on the voter list you have to provide photo ID to get on the list.

@Pathpink That is the current situation, sand photo ID; If you are not lister by electoral return you have to apply, albeit not providing photo ID.

@mrgeoffshumba that is strange, when I tried to apply to go on the electoral roll last year , I was told I had to provide either a passport or driving licence.

@Pathpink The local authority household residence questionnaire certified voter registration until the new bill. A utility bill sufficed for identification.

@Pathpink Proof of identity was required, e.g bank statement, but not photo ID.
