Still thinking about...her
My hottest computer take might be that macOS 10.6 was the last truly great Apple macOS update.
This may or may not be based on the fact that it was the first OS X upgrade I purchased myself with my own money. It seemed like fortune at the time.
I vividly remember receiving the package at my university dorm, going down to my basement room and staring at the little black box it came in.
@maxeddy I totally agree with this because it had the greatest design and reminds me of my childhood. Those big chunky white iMacs in the elementary school computer lab always were a good time. They made me look forward to computer class! Also, the biggest thing that gives me memories is the wallpaper (and that shiny dock as an honorable mention).
The aesthetic back then was just... So perfect
@maxeddy The greatest mac update is when you turn it off
@maxeddy that's not a hot take, that's the truth
@maxeddy I do see a lot of nostalgia to this effect, as someone who jumped into macOS during Mountain Lion, I'm curious - what made it a greater update than those that followed?
@rardk64 It didn't add much but it made everything better. I remember my machine being noticeably more reliable day to day.
