“(Tim) Freedman (The Whitlams) says he is seriously considering supporting the Greens in his Labor-Greens seat of Newtown if Labor leader Chris Minns does not adopt the cashless gaming card as a firm election commitment.” (SMH, 15 January 2023)

I think Chris Minns seems to favour donations from the pokies and gambling lobby over the wishes of #labor supporters

I intend to break a voting habit of a lifetime over this issue because #labor is so blatantly wrong

@pja so to clarify, Labor’s collusion with big coal and gas in the face of the collapsing weather systems and biosphere didn’t sway you, Labor’s collusion with Liberals on locking up humans on remote islands in inhumane conditions didn’t, Labor’s collusion with the Liberals on taking away legal rights justified by ‘national security’ didn’t,
But the issue of the pokies in NSW is enough to change your vote?

@stewsmith

This is just typical #greens hogwash!

The major difference between #labor and #greens is that Labor aspires to be in government, the Greens will never be in government!

A secondary difference is that Labor understands politics, it understands the need to compromise. These are things the Greens will never understand.

The order of political outcomes is:

1st the best possible outcome;
2nd the best possible compromised outcome; and
3rd a bad outcome

and that’s what we got after 2009, a bad outcome!

#greens don’t understand compromise and will never understand politics.

@pja Peter, your response has dodged the question completely and really rolled out a series of Strawman arguments,
Just forget the Greens for a minute,
Do you believe we should be opening up new coal and gas?
Do you believe refugees should be in endless detention?
Would you compromise with Putin or on the issue of slavery?
So why is your redline for Labor the pokies? Why is that somehow more important than all the other failures?
