I use Buttercup, because it's real open source, and because it stores your encrypted passwords by default on your machine and not in the cloud -- but Bitwarden is a good alternative too, from what I can tell: Dump LastPass for open source Bitwarden https://www.theregister.com/2023/01/16/dump_lastpass_bitwarden/
For password protection, dump LastPass for open source Bitwarden

@BrideOfLinux what do you do with all the passwords you have stored? I have LastPass but I'm afraid to get rid of it because I don't know if I can transfer my passwords
@CaliGirl @BrideOfLinux You can. I exported from LastPass and imported into BitWarden and it worked well.
@CaliGirl Buttercups password storage files are portable, so I can just export the files and import them to Buttercup instances on other machines. I don't keep a password manager on my phone because I'm paranoid about phones (don't do any banking or financial transactions on phones either). I really don't like computing on a phone, so I don't keep much on it that needs a password. Just Twitter, Tusky, NY Times, WaPo and things like that. My job means I practically live at my computer anyway.
