@gemelliz @wbalaban Fun fact: Cataract surgeries are one of the easiest ways to boost your numbers, because:

1) They're very expensive, compared to other surgeries; and

2) A single doctor can do a whole bunch of them in a single day.

Regardless, Ford (not a doctor) and Jones (not a doctor) kinda devalued a bunch of surgeons today by labelling cataract surgery and knee and hip replacements as “no brainers” 🤷​

@gemelliz @wbalaban Cataract surgeries kind of are a no brainer? They're just bullshit for the statistics.

The prices were set when it was an all-day, difficult surgery. Now a robot does most of the work, and it only takes 15 minutes.

The hardest thing in the medical system is recruiting doctors. That's easier when you pay them a ton of money for fairly easy work.
