This article argues that skyscrappers are bad for the environment and people. The arguments presented are hard to argue against, though we still have a population issue and limited space.

I wonder what someone like @notjustbikes thinks of an article like this in terms of its impact on urban design.

I moved from NYC to Vancouver, BC and have never felt the impact of urban planning more. Vancouver is more friendly, but NYC is more walkable, bikable, livable by far.

@serge @notjustbikes They make the case that they're bad for the environment, but they don't compare it to whatever alternative housing solutions there would be. What if half those people bought houses...how would that affect the environment, etc. It's fine to say "skyscrapers have these problems and 15 story tall buildings don't", but without taking into account the housing alternatives, you can't say it's actually bad for the environment that these are being built.
