@beej I think they mean "gluten free" when they say "Grain free"
Because I have big news for them about what we call individual grains of rice.
@rockario @beej then I have big news for you about the gluten content of regular old rice (none)
@lulamorashi @rockario @beej until it's packed at a facility that also handles wheat, like oats
@ailbhe @lulamorashi @rockario @[email protected] exactly
But I think understanding of the existence/effects cross contamination is somehow limited to the celiac community

@beej For my own sake, I'm gonna mention in this thread that this is indeed not actually made of rice. It's konnyaku, which is also made into noodles as shirataki, and it is super low calorie which makes sense being sold here as a health food.

That does not make this packaging any less funny and baffling. An absolute failure to tell us what the fuck we're looking at.

@[email protected] @rockario Can you explain why super low calorie would be a health benefit? This seems highly processed so I would not think of it as a healthy food personally.
@beej @rockario rice doesnโ€™t have gluten though.
@beej @rockario isnโ€™t all rice gluten free? ๐Ÿ™„
@DangerousFruit @[email protected] @rockario I like packaging to mention GF because then I know itโ€™s not processed in a shared facility with the risk of cross contamination.
@rockario @beej It is grain free because it's not rice
