So, today I learned that the vast majority of lights in the UK now come with Edison Screw (ES) fitting rather than the old/traditional Bayonet Cap (BC) ones. And they come in different sizes too (https://www.mygreenlighting.co.uk/energy_saving_blog/bulbs/e12-e14-ses-e17-all-fingers-and-thumbs)
