My father covered the Civil Rights Movement for the Chicago Tribune and The Washington Post and knew Martin Luther King Jr. This is from the Post's story on MLK's funeral. I think dad got it exactly right. The white establishment wants King's legacy to be "let's all get along and love one another." Don't let it happen. King was a radical.
