Is it important to you whether the company that makes your browser is also an ad company and/or uses your browsing data to place ads?

At Vivaldi we have a strong stance against user profiling, but what about your browser of choice? Most major browsers are owned by companies that are also ad companies.

Is this an important question to ask? In that case, feel free to boost it. I am also interested in your comments below.

@jon the way you inform people and advocate for more ethical software is amazing! I fully appreciate.

Also, sorry if this has been discussed before, I'd like to learn how does vivaldi, simply, make money? For some foss projects, it is known, with contributions, donations, etc. What about vivaldi? I'd appreciate any links or resources to get further info.

Thanks!

@alvanrahimli , thank you for your kind words. This is really important to us as a company. We believe in making a difference and that is what we try to do.
