A number of people seem to be having stressful days after unrestful nights, so I thought I’d share this photo of Vice Admiral Finnegan Nimoy Reginald Kirkpatrick, Earl of Barkington, at the start of his naval career. May you find sustenance in this early capturing of he who started from such humble, floppy-eared log-walking-by-the-shore beginnings, but would later become a decorated officer and hero of the sea, respected and beloved by all who know him.

@hollie A wonderful photo and such a nice description!
@hollie Shared this with my retired US Marine (later in life Bank VP) father—who has a pretty serious nature—he enjoyed it immensely. Thank you for posting. Send Vice Admiral Kirkpatrick our best. 🐶
@jessicawranosky Oh my gosh, this makes my day! :) Thanks so much for telling me that! I'm so glad he enjoyed it.
@hollie Vice Admiral at his best, thoughtful procedure.
OMG, the cuteness! *boop*
@gregorlove.com The Admiral does enjoy a good boop!

@hollie

Actual picture of my dad, Rupert Miller, in a sailor suit, about 100 years ago. He went on to a career of over 40 years in the navy, retiring as an admiral.

@stevensrmiller Awwwww! What a great photo and story! Thank you for sharing! :)
@hollie If he decides to turn pirate, he’s already got the eyepatch.
@hollie Thank you for your service, sir.

@hollie Foraging for material for a future flagship at an early age. Perhaps this was the keel for the SS Fetchastick…or the more famouser SS Frisbeesides.

Regardless, this historic photo needs more intense puppery level research. We could enlist the help of a certain three letter “agency” to dig up some archival bones.

@andymatisz Oh my gosh! I love this so much. 😂
@hollie awwwww, such an adorable puppy! Today he's not a puppy anymore but I imagine how gorgeous he still is. 💖
Ps. I love dogs.
@hollie The heterochromia aligns! The darker side is brown and the lighter side blue. Very cute. My regards to the Admiral.
