@juddlegum our local Kroger store, put in automated gates at the entrance that would prevent a shoplifter from walking out of the store by sounding an alarm. There is a Starbucks directly to the left of those gates. People running into the store to just grab a coffee either need to push those gates, open or walk through the store to get to the exit. I intentionally hit them with my cart every time. If they wanted to stop shoplifting, maybe they would remove the self-service scanners.
