I absolutely adore this: https://wandering.shop/@JenniferdeGuzman/109672260669029059
A lot of my stories aren't oriented around the typical Conflict based narratives that white-centric Western Publishing demands.
I write a lot of exploration and self-discovery stories. I also write about a person's life and the realizations they may have as things happen to them. I explore what community building in an anticapitalist society looks like.
May explain why a recent editor disliked my novel. lol

Re: not having an antagonist I believe stories do not need to be framed around conflict, and internal actions like difficult decision-making don’t have to be characterized as conflict--what your Middle School English teacher called “Man vs. Self”. X vs. Y is a construction that mainstream publishing has somehow decided is necessary, but it hasn’t always been and it still isn’t in many parts of the world.
