It is not uncommon to learn about non-Indigenous entities appropriating Indigenous culture but none of them are as large, prestigious, nor well-known as The Apache® Software Foundation is in software circles.

@toeberto I guess I am confused. I seem to remember one of the founders saying that the software was pretty unstable in its early days and needed constant patches. Hence the name Apache. Did I dream that? Either way if it's offensive then something needs to be done.

I don't know the story but the feather in the logo certainly leans into the indigenous aspect.
