I'd imagine FTR would be trying to push more for a Punk return so that he could be their third if they were to go for the Trios Championship.
Obviously given the events of Brawl Out and reports since then, it doesn't sound like Punk would be wanted back, but who can say for sure in this wacky wrestling world until there is an official statement from AEW/Tony Khan on Punk's status with the company.
