So is Denton supposed to be the first person narrator from the Poe story? I haven’t been able to make up my mind about that.

@eldang For what it's worth, I read Easton as likely being the same first person narrator, given the initial letter, the shared first person perspective, and the childhood friends parallel.

Denton I thought might be a more fleshed out version of the family physician who appears very briefly right after the narrator enters the house.

...but hmmmmmm it's a really good question.

@picklish oh, that makes sense. The doctor in the original gets so few words that I forgot they were a separate character, lol.
The repeated attention on how American Denton is, along with his not being much of a doctor, felt consistent with how I imagine Poe, but that’s really just that he feels like a Poe character to me.
