The Washington Post
DID NOT
replace their "share on twitter" icon with a "share on Mastodon" link.
I saw an illustration that showed it. My mistake

This needs doing across the internet. Twitter is Alex Jones, twitter is Truth Social, twitter is Tucker Carlson.
CORRECTION: The image I saw must have been to illustrate a story, and NOT the WaPo changing links.

I am gratified by edit, hopefully this edit will propgate.

End twitter, promote freedom and the tusk, save the world.

@kevinrns must be an A/B test, as I'm still seeing "share on Twitter" here... Just picked the first story off the main page ("House Republicans form committee to investigate the government"), but a few other random pages also show the same thing.

@emag @kevinrns

Lol same, I see a Twitter but not Mastodon link.

In yet another journalist exercise of shooting oneself in the foot, though, the captive paywall popup pops up way too fast to even click any of the sharing links... just when you thought paywalls didn't limit their reach far enough!

Also. I hate that I had to type "popup pops up". This is not the future we were promised.
