A man shot & killed a 13-year-old Black child named Karon Blake in Washington, DC—claiming he thought Karon was breaking into a car.😳 Police confirm Karon was unarmed.

Police have not yet ID’d or charged the shooter. Karon is the 426th person killed by gun violence in 2023.😓

@QasimRashid this doesn’t have to be. Our lawmakers have failed our communities by promoting pro-gun violence policies and laws. No one should get to be judge, jury, and executioner because they think they’ve witnessed a crime and our children shouldn’t be gunned down in the streets by their neighbors. #guns
