For #ThickTrunkTuesday, I'm posting a photo of moss-laden old growth trees that I took Sept. 2, 2022, at South Beach State Park, Oregon. We camped there with our 1986 Westfalia #Vanagon, in the campground south of the #Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport.

It's been bugging me that I couldn't name the trees in the photo I'd uploaded. I checked the maps of the area where we walked when I took this photo, and by using the names of the trails - Old South Jetty trail, South Beach State Park, (nearby) Siuslaw National Forest, #Oregon - finally found more info on the trees. I initially thought this might be an old growth Sitka Spruce, but @fvehafric suggests lodgepole pine (see his response below).

Decided since I refer to the above image as being taken while we were #Camping on the #Oregon #Coast, I’d add a photo of our campsite at South Beach State Park, Newport – sunrise Sept. 2, 2022. Our Westfalia Vanagon is dwarfed by the tall pine #trees. The moisture in the air from being near the beach, has saturated the colours in the trees while diluting the emerging sunlight in the white-blue cloudless sky. #KCM

(Edited to re-post the image with new #AltText with more senses described.)
