I have the 13 pro max, I’ve been happy with it. Don’t like the camera much tho tbh

@johnserwach The 13s were their first attempt at a dedicated macro lens I think. Hoping the 14s are nice. I always have my D3, but lugging all that gear on mountain hikes is getting less exciting than it once was. 🤪
@ForeignSubstance the 14 could be an improvement- and honestly the 13 isn’t bad if the lighting is good.
As for lugging gear, yeah when the lens is more than the body, all luster is gone. Used the Sony RX10 iv and found that to be a good compromise. Wish the sensor was bigger tho.
@johnserwach I sank about 2-2.5M¥ into Nikon gear about 15 yrs ago. If you take it all with you, not only does it weigh a lot but you really need an extra backpack (or one huge one), cuz a standard sized BP is going to be pretty much dedicated to that stuff.
Going Apple esp for the slow-mo & action mode. I record my jazz dance sessions, and try to break down my movements at home.
I’ve had that argument with people so many times. They want the giant lens and I’m like, you want to carry all that? Seriously ?
That RX10 is great, weighs 2lbs. 24-600mm -great for birdsong. If the sensor was just bigger it’s all anyone would use. And I’ve always used Nikon in the past.
