„This is how a democracy should work“ while referring to a band of insurrectionists nearly coming to physical altercations on the House floor, the Speaker giving away all his power to a band of the most unhinged extremists who refuse to govern sure is proof of centrist brainworms
McCarthy willingly traded away the ability to raise the debt ceiling and fund the government to be maybe the most powerless speaker the House has ever had, to satisfy his own empty ambition- while security clearances ran out and the House basically didn’t exist.
But sure, repeat the mindless GOP spin that this week of senseless obstruction and attention seeking dumpsterfire which made a mockery of the House was „democracy at work“. Democracy is being strangled and some journos still take those cries as the sound of celebrations. Bizarre
