What they've done is hand the Dems huge leverage over McCarthy, "You want X (debt ceiling, keeping the gov't open, beating the latest motion to vacate), then you're going to do..."

They've given Dems incredible leverage over McCarthy. He'll need their votes to survive their multiple motions to vacate or to increase the debt ceiling or to keep the government open and they'll be able to extract concessions from him for them.

It'll be just like Boehner and Ryan and it'll end the same way, with McCarthy out of politics.
