Tim BraySo, 202 Repubs kept voting for McCarthy as he gave away the farm to the 20 extremists, so when they force the USA to renege on its debts, and/or bring the operations of government to a halt, the whole party owns that, not just the Gaetzes and Boeberts.

Timocracy@timbray @bitterseeds let’s hope so. I believe they are so shaken by the embarrassment of the last week that they’ll want to avoid the “disunity” story at all costs. Many of the so-called “normies” will happily destroy the economy if they think they can pin it on Biden and the democrats.
@Timocracy @timbray The thing is, folks know what the debt ceiling is because of past fights. They know it will FUBAR the U.S. economy and quite a few other countries. If they screw with that, they won't be able to pin it on Biden. My feeling is ... they may be so stupid that they think they can.
