This assumes though that Democrats would join a putsch from the right to overthrow McCarthy.

Freedom Caucus chair Scott Perry says his group’s support for McCarthy is contingent on the terms holding up.

“If the framework blows up, I’m out.”

Their enforcement mechanism? Motion to vacate. Any one member can force a vote; it effectively takes 5 Rs to overthrow a speaker.

@steventdennis It also assumes that no Republicans will vote against adopting the new rules that McCarthy promised. Without the new rules, none of this happens.
@steventdennis
They didn't help him the first 15 times, why would they help him in this hypothetical?
@steventdennis wouldnt Perry need the rules to pass before he could do that?
@steventdennis
The the craziest of the extreme right would take another 15 votes to find another spineless Speaker. What a shit show this has become. Sleep with snakes, end up with parasites.
@steventdennis The "Any one member can force a vote" only goes into affect IF they can pass the rules package
