Finished watching 1899 on the plane. I have a lot of good-will towards its creators because Dark was such a masterpiece. I remained curious and interested because they’ve pulled it off once before.

That being said, if I’m judging what’s on the screen… there were a lot of problems with 1899 and I wouldn’t have stuck with it if it wasn’t for Dark.

Do I wish there was a season 2? Yeah, but do I disagree with Netflix’s decision? Honestly, no.

I think for me, once a show gets into “what is the meaning of reality”, you’re just too far gone. 1899 got there real fast.

And the problem is that there wasn’t much emotional development that you could hang your hat on and feel satisfied about.

@kevin totally agree. They tried to do way too much in the final 1-2 episodes, and the final reveal was such an eye roll to me. Needed to have a lot more patience and restraint.
