The Democratic Caucus is so united that Rep-elect David Trone of Maryland  had surgery this morning and just showed up to vote for Hakeem Jeffries for Speaker.

The only vote Jeffries has lost in 13 rounds is Trone's from round 12 while Trone was having that surgery.

Meanwhile, McCarthy is still working on flipping those Never Kevers (thanks to Jimmy Kimmel for that term).

But congratulations, Kevin -- it took you four days, but you've finally achieved a plurality of votes. If that were enough, Jeffries would have been elected Speaker on Tuesday.

He needs 217 as there are a few McCarthy Republicans missing today.

Live updates: House elects McCarthy as speaker after days of defeats and concessions

Republican Kevin McCarthy offered a package of concessions that moved many of the GOP holdouts to his corner.

The Washington Post
@MariaHill After so much concession to the extremists, wonder how will McCarthy get any thing done. Next two years will be chaotic.
