@piratescarlett I watched it again a few days ago, and I liked his lines👍
@hkcp123 Oh great! :D Yes he's very cool in this movie - I like Wakasugi. It's funny that Umemiya comes back as another character (Iwai) in the next films!
@piratescarlett Oh, it happens😅 I haven't seen part 3 yet. I plan to watch them in order!
@hkcp123 3 is my favourite - I hope you have fun watching it! :)
@piratescarlett Greetings partner, currently finished the Battle Without Honor and Humanity 5 : Final Episode. It seem's like you are a someone who knows this kind of movies. Can you give me any yakuza movie recommendation? If you do that, I would be in your debt.
@8thvoltaire Greetings and nice to meet a fellow yakuza eiga enthusiast! 👋 Great to hear that, and thank you for your question - here are some ideas for you:
- If you want to try other yakuza eiga genres: https://gamblersanddrifters.com/2023/01/08/top-5-yakuza-films-to-discover-the-genre/
- If you want something similar to Battles, 5 jitsuroku to look into:
1. Yakuza Graveyard (1976)
2. Operation Plazma in Osaka (1976)
3. Violent Streets (1974)
4. New Batttles Without Honor & Humanity (part side story/part remake of the originals, but less impactful)
5 Yakuza Films to Discover the Genre

New to yakuza films and unsure where to start? Here are five classics to dive into this rich genre.

Gamblers & Drifters

@8thvoltaire
5. A True Story of the Private Ginza Police (1973)

Let me know if you watch some of the above, and if you need any other ideas!

@piratescarlett Thank you for the reply! I will start with Yakuza Graveyard because it's the one seem's most cool hahahahaha Also did you watched Graveyard Of Honor (1975)? It's a prdouct of Kinji Fukasaku so It might be good!
@8thvoltaire It’s amazing, you won’t be disappointed! 😃 Yes I’ve seen Graveyard of Honor (1975), I love Fukasaku but this is not one of my favourites - it’s very, very nihilistic… Still good though, and great performance from Watari Tetsuya!
@piratescarlett Nihilistic? Not this sound beautiful. I guess can't wait to watch it!
@piratescarlett I watched the Yakuza Graveyard and I must say it was awesome! As a Optimistic Nihilistic, I really loved the way Kuroiwa see the things. His character is really deep. His relationship with Iwata was so good. Overall I think Yakuza Graveyard is a solid 8 out of 10. Thanks for the recommendation! Next stop is Violent Streets!
@8thvoltaire Excellent, I'm glad you enjoyed it! 😃 Great film isn't it, it hits hard - and same, loved the relationship between the two leads. Enjoy Violent Streets next 😁
