My colleague and friend Dusan Velickovic passed away in Belgrade yesterday.

His Fall 2020 Wilson Quarterly essay on the "spomenici" of former Yugoslavia demonstrates his extraordinary gift for blending personal anecdote with larger currents of history.

I will miss him terribly.
