interviewer: give me an example of a time when you took control of a situation

me: no, YOU give ME an example

interviewer: lol okay, that was pretty impressive

me: I’m afraid we’re going to have to let you go

interviewer: *being led away by security* what is happening right now

@rebrafsim @janschiefer a few years ago, this reminds me of my interviewing with a few big companies. I’d been called in for X and then was being asked about Y job characteristics. I kind of “asked to discuss this situation” with the manager, did so, pointing out the lack of interviewing acumen and cluster fuck it actually was. Stated I wasn’t interested as this is a horrific indicator as a first impression.

@rebrafsim @janschiefer I did so however in a polite, professional, and reasonable way. So then a few days later I get a ping, “would you be interested in consulting to help us sort out our hiring pipeline?”

To which I did for a solid chunk of $$ for a few days of working it through.

So I stopped interviewing for an extra few weeks since I then had some extra vacay money! 🤘🏻

Figured I deserved it since I’d done a good deed! 🤣
