Infosec people - am I the only one who finds the Louisiana "you must submit your ID to porn sites" bill horrifying? Like even setting aside the surveillance state stuff, this seems like it will lead to some incredibly successful phishing campaigns.

Louisiana Law Requires ID to View Porn

Websites containing 33.3% or more of pornographic content are responsible for checking users' age. Presumably residents could get around that by using a VPN, though.

Like, how the heck do you explain to someone "you have to submit your ID to porn sites but only if the porn site looks trustworthy"?
@Midknight might I suggest a vpn as an alternative. I’ve considered at points in my career curating a list of least skeezy porn sites so that I don’t get asked how to fix someone’s malware infected system. Now I just think about the vender due diligence and risk matrix that would be involved and cry 😭 😂🤣
@blueteamtrevor I mean I'm not in Louisiana; this doesn't affect me personally :P
I'm worried for the users who aren't technologically informed enough to use a VPN, as those are also the prime targets for phishing.
